Introducing the RefugeeMaps blog

European countries are experiencing an influx of refugees at a scale not seen since World War II. Where governments have failed, citizens have stepped up. Hundreds of local communities looking at this human desperation have responded with welcoming support and generosity. This has now become the biggest grassroots movement in the most developed countries of the world.

Over the past month, RefugeeMaps.org has been mapping this movement, helping you find nearby events and donation locations.

Help organised by volunteer groups and charities aims to reach refugees who come from Syria, Afghanistan, Ethiopia and Sudan. The political and humanitarian situation in these countries is becoming too complex to comprehend.

The RefugeeMaps blog is making an attempt to research and understand the geopolitics of this situation.
